Hey there, welcome back!
It's fantastic to have you here again.
Today, I have a tale to share, one that will warm your heart, and inspire your faith.
Aunt Millie is someone I hold dear, like a second grandmother in my life. So you can imagine the shock and dismay that washed over me when it was discovered that a growth in her body had the potential to be cancerous. The doctors insisted on immediate surgery, and subsequent chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments.
My heart sank faster than a sinking soufflé.
Though Aunt Millie might be considered a vintage model by the younger generation, I knew she had plenty of life left in her. But the thought of the grueling treatments ahead, well, let's just say it left a really sour taste in my mouth. The journey from receiving the news to the next steps felt like a roller-coaster ride on an express track. Within that whirlwind, I learned that treatment would commence in just ten days after a biopsy test and body scan to determine the extent of the growth. I knew of a doctor who could work miracles with a stethoscope. I desperately needed to secure a private appointment with Him. In the cozy confines of my closet, I poured my heart out to Him to spare Aunt Millie, standing on His promise in Jeremiah 30:17. Picture this: me, in shock, tears flowing like a river, a mix of fear and hope bubbling within. And Jesus, the ultimate listener, without judgment, allowed me to unleash my flood of emotions. By the end of that divine session, a sense of peace settled upon me like a soft cloud.
Enter Rehema
The very next day, a song called "Ndio" by Rehema Simfukwe began playing on repeat in my mind. Now, let me confess, when I first heard this song, I didn't think much of it, except for acknowledging its beautiful arrangement and Rehema's angelic voice. But now, it took on a new significance. You see, "ndio" is Swahili for "yes." Quite perplexed, I decided to heed the gentle prompting of the Holy Spirit and listen to it.
And oh, did that song strike a chord in my soul! The chorus declared:
"Ameamua - He has decided! Nani ampinge - Who can oppose? Baba amesema ndio - God has said yes! Nani akatae - Who dares to refuse?"
It became my anthem, a source of joy, strength and unwavering conviction over the next 72 hours after hearing about the diagnosis. I sang it with all my heart, danced to its rhythms, and played it on repeat for hours on end. and then, as mysteriously as it began, the urge to play it over and over faded away, leaving me, well, a bit bewildered.
Could it be, my friends, that this song was God's response to my desperate pleas? Did He use this catchy tune to speak directly to my heart?
And then came the day of reckoning—the day when the test results would be revealed. I awaited the video call with a poker face, preparing myself for the worst. Aunt Millie and her husband had a mischievous twinkle in their eyes. I was utterly befuddled!
"Nothing!" they exclaimed with glee.
"Ahh ... what do you mean, nothing?" I stuttered, unable to grasp the unexpected twist in this tale. "No cancer detected! Not even the one that had been treated before!" they joyfully proclaimed. "What?!"
In that instant, the song flooded back to me like a tidal wave of wonder and awe.
Oh, my dear friends, what an incredible miracle! The tears of joy flowed freely, as I found myself in a state of new shock—the shock of witnessing a healing miracle firsthand. After the call, I played the song again, this time with overwhelming sense of gratitude, unrestrained praise, and, yes, a healthy dose of shock.
I want to encourage each one of you with the assurance that God still does miracles. And His word never returns empty as promised in Isaiah 55:11 and He doesn't lie as it is written in Numbers 23:19, 1Samuel 15:29, Psalm 89:35 and Hebrews 6:18.
Isn't it amazing how God can speak to us in the most unexpected ways, even through music? So I urge you to immerse yourself in faith-filled melodies, allowing the lyrics to resonate with your heart. You never know, your answers may be hidden within the tunes that inspire and uplift your soul.
Stay tuned, stay blessed!
Harmoniously yours!
